Treating the cause, not masking the issue
Odour Treatment After a Death in London
Strong odour can remain after an unattended death because the source may
have entered carpets, underlay, mattresses, furniture and other porous
materials. Surface cleaning alone is often not enough. The source must
be identified first, affected materials must be assessed properly, and
additional odour treatment may then be used where appropriate.
We treat the cause of the odour, not just the air around it.
01
Find the Source
We look beyond the surface to identify where the odour is coming
from, including hidden contamination in absorbent materials and
affected areas around the room.
02
Treat Affected Materials
Suitable materials may be cleaned and decontaminated, while
heavily affected items may require controlled removal if treatment
is unlikely to deal with the source properly.
03
Apply Additional Odour Control
Fogging may be used as part of the process where appropriate, but
it supports the treatment plan rather than replacing proper source
removal and decontamination.
Important note about odour after after-death cleaning We cannot guarantee that all odour will disappear immediately after
the work is completed. In some cases, the smell may reduce gradually
over time, especially as the property is aired by opening windows and
allowing fresh air to circulate. This is why we assess the source
carefully and avoid making unrealistic promises before inspection.
